Surely this term social bookmarking has appeared several times across several website while you are researching for information. So, what is social bookmarking?
Social bookmarking initially (and still is ) is an idea to share your favorite bookmarks (internet pages which you saved) with others, thus allowing sharing of interesting and informative information.
Internet marketers caught hold of this trend and submit their own websites to social bookmarking websites. And this leads to the development of social bookmarking tools or social bookmark submitters which automatically submits websites to several social bookmarking sites.
To name a few such as Technorati , Digg, StumleUpon. They are all authority sites with PR8 which i check moments ago.
With back links from authority sites, internet marketer’s websites’ PR juice will greatly increase. However, due to abuse, most of the social bookmarking sites have a “NoFollow” Rule. And google does not give any link juice from sites with “NoFollow” link. In layman terms, even though a PR8 site link to your webpage, in google’s eyes, it will be counted as a PR 0 site.
Does this means we do not need to do social bookmarking anymore? Not really. For now, yahoo and ask.com still does not follow this “NoFollow” rule. They still follows, thus giving link juice from the social bookmarking website to the internet marketer’s website.
And i am proud to say take i have taken even more actions towards link building. I created around 30 accounts. Yes 30 accounts with various social bookmarking websites. which took me around 2 hours! All this to prepare me to create account with OnlyWire.
OnlyWire is a social bookmarking tool which is free if you do a link back to them. Or pay $2.99 a month or $24.99/year and submit all you want without giving a backlink to them. What it does, like other social bookmarking tools, it allows you to submit to various social bookmarking websites with just a click of your mouse.
I decided to go the route of paying $2.99 a month to try out their service to see if there is any significant traffic increase. $2.99 a month is a lot cheaper than other social bookmarking tools in the market which costs $100+.
While using OnlyWire, it allows me to submit every link at a click of a mouse. However, it is still not able to solve captha on its own. The captha code will appear in the main menu of Onlywire and you have to key in the correct captha to submit to the site. Pretty simple n straightforward.
On first try, my Reddit submittion keeps failing even though the captha code is correct. And a Diigo account fails to submit.
On a 2nd posting, again reddit and diigo fails me. On top of the 2 failures, 3 more social bookmarking website failed. I have posted to Onlywire helpdesk and is pending some technical explanation from them. Hopes they gave me favorable answers and solve the issue.
Wait for my future updates regarding this social bookmarking tool.
