Website Traffic Analysis Software

This post is even longer than what i expected, if you are ready, read on.

What are some of the best website traffic analysis software?

Previously in the past, webmaster are contented to be using site meter to track their website’s traffic – a simple counter that increase by 1 whenever the page or website is loaded.

As times go, webmasters demand even more information about their visitors. Some example will be

- where they are from

- how many pages they visited

- how long they stayed.

When webmasters starting doing SEO and PPC, they naturally demand almost everything since they are paying customers. Details such as

- which ads

- which keywords

- which engines

are required to be provided by website traffic analysis software to track their success. And all this leads to the birth of websites that dedicate themselves to tracking visitor’s data, such as OneStats and Webmetrics. And of course – Google Analytics.

I think i am pretty biased. Or rather very biased.  Google again. You can say that. But their programs works fine for me all this while. (Other than chrome having a lot of bugs when it started out, but they are all resolved!)

Probably you wish to ask me, Nick, since google analytics is such a good website traffic analysis software, what can it do?

Let’s the screenshots, of the main menu inside of Analytics, tell the story

This is the goals setting pages. This page is about (copied and pasted from google)

============

What are Goals?

Goal conversions are the primary metric for measuring how well your site fulfills business objectives. A goal is a website page which a visitor reaches once they have made a purchase or completed another desired action, such as a registration or download.

How can goals help me?

Once you have set your goals, you’ll be able to see conversion rates and the monetary value of the traffic you receive. You can also define a “funnel path” for each goal. A funnel path is the path you want visitors to take to reach a goal. Defining a funnel path allows you to monitor how frequently visitors who begin a conversion process actually complete it.

Examples of goals include:

“Thank you for registering” pages

receipts

flight itinerary confirmations

“Download completed” page

========

I have yet to set goals yet at the moment, because i wanted to create more content, which i think i am creating at a snail’s speed )=

I covered all the main feature of Google Analytics which i feel is the right website traffic analysis software for me.

With almost information about my traffic and website that i need to know, i will be sticking to using this until the day google screws up or they starts charging.

Did i mention Google Analytics is s free website traffic analysis software?
