To show this, i have added a small experiment which i am carrying out on this page,http://nick-lee.me/webmarketing-toyota-google-dinosaur, which will be my example page to show you this exercise to optimize your webpage.

The obvious on page optimization
If you were to notice, i have sprinkle the keyword “Webmarketing Toyota Google Dinosaur” over the page. which is a longtail keyword (consists of at least 4 or more words)
The difference between a long tail key is that, it is easier to rank #1 spot in google than short tail keyword. Think about this keyword, “car” and “red toyota saloon car” which one will be easier to rank for?
Back to topic, on the page, the title contains the keyword, the URL contains the keyword and there is even an anchor text that contain the keyword!
Now that the obvious parts that we can see, how about the unobvious parts?
The unobvious on page optimization
Now right click anywhere on the page and select “View Source” or “View Page Source” and a page full of text will appear.
You should have something similar to the above image if you did the “view source” correctly
Now click on the image to enlarge it.
Look at the 2nd circle, You will have notice that meta keywords and meta description contains the keyword too.
Once you have done this optimization exercise, you are better off than 80% of the rest of the webmasters. You are able to proudly announce that you webpage is optimized for your keyword.
