Adsense Daily Challenge Day 43 – Editing of Wordpress Template
Advertisements
Designing and coding was certainly not my forte. I had studied programming when i was in high school, but the results ain’t as fantastic as mr fox.
Designing a new site is always a headache for me, a big headache, especially if i am doing a wordpress site. It is not so bad if i am doing a micro niche site (the xfactor sites). A plain site and the site is done.
It is much worse when i am planning to do a niche authority site where i am planning to put around 20 pages of content. I spent time finding the templates. After which, i will spend a couple of hours clearing the useless codes from the template. I did the sweeping of spider web coding in the template today and spent around 6 hours on the editing itself.
I was planning to get the thesis theme after watching the video, i was wow-ed by the video. But it is too expensive. $147 for the developer version (unlimited usage), which you can resell and $87 for the personal version (1 website usage)
Well, if you are wondering, here the breakdown of time spent for this site
Sourcing of template : 1 hour
Adding of plugin : 30 minutes
1st content page : one hour (too many stuffs to write, no idea where to start)
Editing of codes : 6 hours (Too many custom fields!)
Site Explorer, Google and Bing Submission : 15 minutes (For some reason, i keep failing bing’s captcha.
Adsense Code Creation : i make new codes for every new site, for every single size (10 minutes)
And now, a wordpress site that loads much faster than the initial version i got.
